Toyota Rav4 Review
The Toyota RAV4 is a small sport-utility vehicle, the
smallest of Toyota's large family of SUVs. With its narrow width
and lighter weight, the Toyota Rav4 is nice to drive and easy to
park and achieves superior fuel economy when comparably equipped.
As the steering is light and the brakes are strong the Rav4 feels
effortless to drive. The driving position is high, maybe too high
for some but great for most. There are light controls and a great
all round visibility. For passengers, the Rav4 is roomy all round
and particularly quiet. The rear seats slide forward and backward
to alter boot space, but that does reduce legroom. They are split
60:40 and can be folded flat with a quick tug of a boot mounted
lever. There is an optional third row of seats that fold flat into
the trunk, they do take up some of the boot space but it is extra
seat space. The Rav4 has an active torque control 4 wheel drive
system which splits the power to the front and rear wheels for
maximum traction from moving from a stand still to challenging
terrain. Front wheel drive sets to improve economy when driving
along the motorway. Safety features included with the Rav4 are a
total of 9 air bags including drivers knee protecting airbags, 3
point seatbelts and headrests are fitted to all five seats, with
the front 2 featuring a whiplash protection system which moves the
headrest and seat forward in the event of a rear-end shunt. 2
Isofix child seat mounting points are fitted to the rear seats.
