Daihatsu Extol Review
The Daihatsu Extol, a micro van, is a rare kind nowadays. Despite its compact dimensions, the Extol's forward mounted cabin area, good height and relatively boxy shape means the load area is still decent. The cabin is narrow but otherwise comfortable and roomy. All the controls are light and easy to use. Power steering is a standard feature of the Extol helping it handle well and at light speeds the van feels light and manoeuvrable. On the motorway the Extol has the power but can be noisy and being a tall and light vehicle it's prone to being pulled about by strong winds which can make driving unnerving. The Daihatsu Extol's load area is 1.7meters long, 1.3meters wide and 1.17meters high which means there is a 2.2 cubic meters load volume. The vehicles payload is 615kg. Large sliding doors both sides allow easy access and also provide access to additional storage space under the floor. In the cabin there are a couple of small cup holders, a small glove box and a number of small pockets and recesses for keys and change etc. Driver and passenger airbags come standard in the Daihatsu Extol along with central locking, although this can only be activated from the driver's door and with no remote function available you need to use the key.
