VW Caddy Review
The VW Caddy is a fab little van practical for your needs and
ideal for sprinting around. The Caddy was developed from the Touran
but was made more spacious with a sleeker shape. The Caddy is the
only van in its class to have a side sliding door as standard.
Inside the van everything is clearly located with easy functions.
Visibility to the front and sides is good, although the rear doors
feature a 60/40 split and the bulkhead is 40/60 so there is a
considerable central blindspot to the
rear. There's plenty of storage throughout the cab
including a glovebox, sizable door bins, dash top trays and 4 cup
holders. The VW Caddy has a 5 speed manual gearbox no matter what
engine you pick and drives just like a car. The Caddy's standard
features include remote central locking, heat reflective glass,
power steering and an adjustable steering wheel. The loadspace of
the van is decent, with a height of 587mm. The maximum payload of
the Caddy is 819kg and it has a towing max of 1500kg. The loadspace
can fit a europallet in and has 6 lashing eyes for securing loads.
The asymmetrically splitting rear doors open to 90 degrees with the
catch, or 180 degrees without. Standard safety features of the van
include ABS, traction control and engine braking control plus a
drivers airbag, disc brakes on all wheels, electronic brake force
distribution and central locking and an immobiliser.
